AFL NOTES: Mike Sutton was acquired by Dallas at the end of the 2008 training camp in a trade with Kansas City for future considerations. Kansas City signed him on February 13 after he was released by New Orleans on February 9, 2008. Sutton was traded from Georgia to New Orleans on August 30, 2007 for FB/LB Dan Curran. The Slidell native who played collegiately at LSU is coming off of one of his finest seasons, where he had a career-high four sacks for the Force. The five-year AFL veteran has posted 71 tackles 8.5 sacks, eight pass breakups, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception in his career.

AFL 2007 (Georgia): Sutton appeared in all 16 games for the Georgia Force and made 19.5 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, two pass breakups and a career-high four sack. In two postseason games he made five tackles. Sutton had four solo tackles, two sacks for a loss of six yards and one tackle for a six-yard loss against Austin (3/11). He collared one solo tackle and a sack at Tampa Bay (3/17). Sutton made one solo tackle and a sack for a nine-yard loss against Las Vegas (4/15). He totaled 2.5 tackles and half a tackle for a one-yard loss against New Orleans (6/24).

AFL 2006 (Columbus): Sutton recorded 16.5 tackles, one assisted sack, four pass breakups and one fumble recovery in 16 games for Columbus. He made 2.5 tackles and one pass breakup at Nashville (2/3). Sutton posted a half tackle against Dallas (2/11) before making 1.5 tackles at Kansas City (2/19). He had one tackle against Georgia (3/10). Sutton made two tackles against Philadelphia (3/18) and at Colorado (3/25). AT Dallas he had a half tackle and one pass breakup before totaling a season-high four tackles and one fumble recovery against Orlando (4/9). At Philadelphia (4/21) Sutton made one tackle before making 1.5 tackles at Austin (4/29).

AFL 2005 (Tampa Bay): Sutton played in nine games for the Tampa Bay and registered 12 tackles, one sack, one pass breakup, one blocked kick, one forced fumble and one interception. At Philadelphia (3/20) he made one tackle. Sutton made one interception, one pass breakup and one tackle against Georgia (4/2). He had one tackle against Orlando (4/9). Sutton tallied 2.5 tackles at Austin (4/17) and at Nashville (4/24). He made a half tackle against New Orleans (4/30) and at Georgia (5/8). Sutton posted his first sack of the season against New York (5/15) along with one tackle before closing out the season with one tackle at Columbus (5/22).

AFL 2004 (Indiana): Sutton collected 20.0 tackles, three sacks, three forced fumbles and one pass breakup in 16 games for the Indiana Firebirds. He made one tackle against Columbus (2/7) and at New Orleans (2/14). At Orlando (3/6) he had two tackles and one pass breakup. Sutton tallied his first sack of the season along with 2.5 tackles at Austin (3/14). He had a season-high four tackles and a season-high two sacks against Carolina (4/11). Sutton tallied two tackles against Colorado (5/16) and at Chicago (5/23).

AFL 2001 (Los Angeles): Sutton participated in five games in his AFL rookie season and recorded two tackles for Los Angeles. He made one tackle at Arizona (6/23) and at Carolina (7/13).

OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 2000 - Sutton was a member of the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe in 2000, where he recorded 39 tackles and nine sacks. 1999 - Was allocated to NFL Europe by the Tennessee Titans where he played with the Rhein Fire and totaled 19 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble. 1998 - Signed with the Tennessee Oilers as an undrafted rookie free agent.

COLLEGE: Sutton was a four-year letterman as a defensive end for Louisiana State University where he registered 80 tackles, 10 sacks, and three fumble recoveries. He tallied a career-high 53 tackles and six sacks as a junior.

PERSONAL: Sutton prepped at Salmen (Slidell, La.) High School. He was named Defensive Player of the Year by the New Orleans Times-Picayune as a senior. Sutton lettered in basketball, track and football.
