AFL NOTES: One of the most prolific kickers in AFL history, Remy Hamilton takes over the kicking duties in his first season with the Dallas Desperados after signing with the team on October 29, 2007. In his first 10 seasons in the AFL, Hamilton has scored 1,385 points (second all-time in league history) and converted 176 field goals (second all-time). He has also scored six additional points on a trio of two-point conversion rushes. He holds the top-two spots for most points scored by a kicker in a single season with 185 in 2005 and 173 points in 2006. Hamilton, who is the first kicker in league history to win the AFL's Kicker of the Year award in back-to-back seasons, also has been honored as an All-Arena First Team selection in both 2005 and 2006. An excellent special teams player after he boots the football downfield, Hamilton has made 113.5 career tackles.

AFL 2007 (Los Angeles): Hamilton scored the third-most points amongst all AFL kickers with 149 on 16-of-30 field goal attempts (53.3%) while also converting 101-of-114 PATs (88.6%). He also contributed 13.5 tackles. Hamilton connected on seven-of-eight extra points and added a 17-yard field goal against San Jose (3/4). Hamilton attempted five field goals at Orlando (3/12), hitting a 26-yarder. At New Orleans (3/24) he was perfect on two field goals (18, 36) and six PATs. His 36-yard field goal against the VooDoo was a season-long. Hamilton was one-of-three in field goals with a 34-yarder while also adding four extra points at Chicago (4/1). He kicked a 33-yard field goal and was seven-of-nine in PATs against Arizona (4/6). At Utah (4/13) Hamilton was successful on a season-high nine extra points. He tallied his season-high point performance against Grand Rapids (4/28) with 15 by making two field goals (28, 16) and nine-of-10 PATs. His nine PATs made tied his season-high while his 10 attempts marked a season-high. At Las Vegas (5/6) Hamilton made a 21-yard field goal and was six-of-eight on PATs. He hit a 35-yard field goal and added four extra points against Tampa Bay (5/12). At Kansas City (5/26) he was perfect on all eight PATs. Hamilton had a season-high three field goals made and tied a season-best with five field goals attempted while also adding five extra points against Chicago (6/2). He connected on a 20-yard field goal against Las Vegas (6/17) while also contributing seven extra points. In the season finale against Utah (6/23) Hamilton hit a 20-yard field goal and connected on all four extra point attempts. In a Wild Card Playoff game against Utah (7/2), he was one-of-two with a 17-yard field goal and was seven-of-nine in extra points. In the Divisional Playoff Game at Chicago (7/9), Hamilton contributed two extra points.

AFL 2006 (Los Angeles): Hamilton broke his own Arena Football League record for field goal percentage and most points in a season by a kicker and was selected as the AFL's Kicker of the Year for the second consecutive year while also being named First Team All-Arena League for the second straight year as well. Displaying stunning accuracy and consistency, he was 27-of-36 on field goals in 2006, which translates to an AFL-record 75 percent success rate, and he was 92-of-98 (93.9 percent, tops in the AFL) on extra points. For the second consecutive season, he led all AFL kickers in scoring with 173 points (his closest competitor was 29 points behind). Hamilton also finished the 2006 season with 11.5 special teams tackles. Hamilton opened the season with a perfect performance against Arizona (1/29), hitting all four field goals and PATs. He hit two-of-three field goals and added three PATs at Philadelphia (2/5). Hamilton made one field goal and nine PATs against Utah (2/25). He made two field goals and nine PATs at San Jose (3/12) before connecting on all four field goal attempts with six PATs against Colorado (3/19). At Arizona (3/24) he had one field goal and six PATs. At Kansas City (4/9) he made one field goal and six PATs. He was two-of-three in field goals along with seven PATs at Utah (4/15). Hamilton was a season-best 10-of-10 on PATs while also adding one field goal against Nashville (5/6). He closed out the season against Las Vegas (5/13) hitting three-of-four field goals with five PATs.

AFL 2005 (Los Angeles): Hamilton took home his first AFL Kicker of the Year honor along with his first appearance on the All-Arena First Team after he cashed in on 74.4 percent (29-of-39) of his field goal attempts, breaking the previous record of 72.0% (18-of-25) set by Jay Taylor of the Orlando Predators in 2004. In addition, Hamilton was a near-perfect 25-of-26 on his three-pointers from inside of 38 yards and made 99-of-107 extra point attempts along with adding 14 tackles and his first career fumble recovery. On his way to leading the league with 29 field goals and 185 points, Hamilton opened the season by nailing his first 11 three-point attempts (dating back to the 2004 season, he converted on 12 consecutive field goal attempts to break another AFL record). In the game at Austin (2/11) he kicked five field goals, scored a total of 22 points and came up with a key fumble recovery to earn U.S. Army Ironman of the Game honors (the first kicker in AFL history to do so). Hamilton connected on one field goal and four PATs at Las Vegas (1/30) in the team's opener. He hit all four field goals while adding four PATs against Georgia (2/4). Hamilton had a perfect game at Austin (2/11), going four-of-four on field goals and seven-of-seven on PATs. He connected on three-of-four field goals against San Jose (2/20) while also adding eight PATs. Hamilton was perfect at Colorado (2/27) with two-of-two field goals and four-of-four PATs. At Orlando (4/3) he hit four field goals and four PATs. Against New York (4/10) Hamilton had seven PATs and one field goal. He turned in his third perfect game of the season at Nashville (4/17) when he connected on two-of-two field goals and six-of-six PATs. Hamilton contributed one field goal and eight PATs against Arizona (4/30). At Grand Rapids (5/21) he made one field goal and nine PATs. In the playoff game against Chicago (5/29) Hamilton made one field goal and six PATs.

AFL 2004 (Los Angeles): Hamilton kicked 14-of-24 field goals and made 103-of-116 PAT attempts along with 11 tackles, earning him All-Arena Second Team honors. Hamilton began the season at Arizona (2/8) with one field goal and six PATs. He was a perfect two-of-two on field goals and eight-of-eight on PATs at Las Vegas (2/14). Hamilton extended his perfect streak against San Jose (2/22) as he connected on two-of-two field goals and seven-of-seven PATs. He had one field goal and seven PATs against Georgia (3/1). At Dallas (3/21) he hit two-of-two field goals and five PATs. He had one field goal and seven PATs at San Jose (3/26). Hamilton attempted a season-high 11 PATs against Austin (4/3), connecting on seven of them. At Chicago (4/25) he contributed a season-high nine PATs. At New York (5/16) he recorded season-highs on field goals made (three) and attempts (four) while also converting all seven PATs. Hamilton made one field goal and five PATs against Orlando (5/30). In a Wild Card Playoff game at Arizona (6/6) he contributed four PATs.

AFL 2003 (Los Angeles): Hamilton finished second in the AFL with 148 points on 14-of-28 field goals with a long kick of 47 yards and added career-highs in extra points made (106) and extra points attempted (118). He also contributed a career-high 15 tackles. Hamilton had six PATs in the season-opener against Las Vegas (2/2). He made one field goal and eight PATs against San Jose (2/9). Hamilton was perfect on a season-high three field goals at Colorado (2/16) while also going a perfect six-of-six on PATs. At Chicago (2/23) he hit two-of-three field goals while also connecting on five PATs. He was a perfect two-of-two on field goals against Grand Rapids (3/23) while also adding seven PATs. Hamilton was perfect at Orlando (3/30) as he connected on one field goal and all seven PATs. Hamilton turned in a season best in PATs made (10) and attempted (11) against Arizona (4/13). He had a season-high four field goal attempts - hitting one - along with eight PATs against Buffalo (4/18). At Dallas (4/27) he made one field goal and six PATs. In the Quarterfinal Playoff game against Arizona (6/1) he made nine PATs.

AFL 2002 (Los Angeles): In his first season with Los Angeles, Hamilton tallied 131 points on 16-of-31 field goal attempts with a long of 52 yards and was 83-of-94 on extra point attempts while also adding 14 tackles. Hamilton set an Avenger record with a 52-yard field goal against Arizona (7/6). He originally signed a free agent contract with the Avengers on Jan. 25. Hamilton opened the season against New York (4/19) with one field goal and four PATs. At Arizona (4/27) he had one field goal and eight PATs. At Georgia (5/24) he contributed eight PATs. Against San Jose (6/8) Hamilton turned in season-bests in field goals made (four) and attempts (five) while also drilling three PATs. He had two field goals and eight PATs at Grand Rapids (6/15) then contributed eight PATs on a season-high nine attempts against Carolina (6/22). At Toronto (6/27) Hamilton had one field goal and seven PATs before hitting one field goal and five PATs against Arizona (7/6). In a first-round playoff game against Tampa Bay (7/27) he contributed five PATs.

AFL 2001 (Milwaukee): Hamilton came up with 11.5 tackles while adding 118 points on 18-of-41 field goals attempts with a career-long 58-yard kick and was 64-of-75 in extra point attempts for the Mustangs. He had two field goals and four PATs at Grand Rapids (4/29) in his Milwaukee debut. He was two-of-two on field goals and five-of-six on PATs at Tampa Bay (5/4). He was two-of-two on field goals along with five PATs against San Jose (5/18). Hamilton made two field goals and four PATs against Chicago (5/25). He attempted a season-high nine PATs - making eight - against Grand Rapids (6/16). He had season-highs in field goals made (three), attempts (four) and PATs (eight) against Detroit (7/6) before tying his season-highs in field goals made and attempted (three-of-four) at Chicago (7/14) along with adding two PATs.

AFL 2000 (Carolina): Hamilton played for the Carolina Cobras during their inaugural season and made 11-of-42 field goal attempts with a long of 51 yards and was 64-of-75 on PATs to total 97 points. He also had 10.5 special teams tackles. Hamilton kicked a 40-yard field goal and seven extra points against the Avengers (4/20) in the first regular-season AFL game ever played at Los Angeles's STAPLES Center. He made one field goal against Orlando (4/27), at Tampa Bay (5/4) and at Florida (5/14). At Orlando (6/2) he made a season-high two field goals while also adding six PATs. Hamilton made one field goal against Milwaukee (6/9) before adding a field goal and six PATs at New England (6/16). At Nashville he had one field goal and four PATs. He made seven PATs against Houston (6/30). Hamilton tied his season-high two field goals made against New Jersey (7/14) while also adding seven PATs.

AFL 1999 (Grand Rapids): Hamilton was 12-of-37 in field goal attempts with a long of 46 yards while also connecting on 84-of-97 (86.6%) extra point attempts for a total of 120 points. He also added 7.5 special teams tackles. Hamilton was a perfect two-of-two in the season opener against San Jose (4/24). At Houston (5/1) he connected on two-of-four field goals. Hamilton hit a 39-yard field goal at Milwaukee (5/7) before connecting on a season-long 45-yarder at Florida (5/22). He was two-of-four at Buffalo (5/28) and had one field goal against Tampa Bay (6/5). At New England (7/9) Hamilton had two field goals before making one field goal against Milwaukee (7/17).

AFL 1998 (Grand Rapids): Hamilton began his AFL career in his first of two seasons with the Grand Rapids Rampage. In his rookie season, he made 19-of-51 field goals with a long of 55 yards and was 61-of-62 on PATs to total 118 points with five tackles. Hamilton opened the season at Orlando (5/1) with two field goals. He had one field goal against Iowa (5/8) before making a season-high three field goals at Portland (5/16). Hamilton made two field goals at San Jose (5/24) and at Iowa (6/6). Hamilton kicked a season-long 55-yard field goal along with a 54-yarder against New York (6/27). He had two field goals against Arizona (7/2). Hamilton had one field goal against Florida (7/20) before making two at Milwaukee (7/24) and one against Tampa Bay (8/1) to close out the season.

OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 2006 - Hamilton once again attended the St. Louis Rams training camp but was released. 2005 - Hamilton went to camp with the Rams, but was released and played in one game for the Detroit Lions - with one extra point attempt. He was released, then spent several weeks on their practice squad. 2004 - Hamilton saw limited time in the preseason with the Bears, but was released before the start of the season. 2003 - Hamilton was with the Seahawks in preseason, but was released prior to the start of the regular season.

COLLEGE: At the University of Michigan, Hamilton was a first-team All-Big Ten Conference selection and one-of-five finalists for the Lou Groza Award (given to the nation's top collegiate placekicker) as a sophomore in 1994. During that season, he led the team with 101 points, setting a school scoring record for kickers. Hamilton's 25 field goals in 1994 still stand as a Michigan single-season record. He also owns the second and third marks in that category, with 19 field goals in 1995 and 18 in 1996. During his four-year career, Hamilton made a total of 63 field goals (including 10 from 40-or-more yards out), which is yet another Wolverine school record. He remains as the only kicker in school history to earn All-America honors. The highlight of his Michigan career was kicking a game-winning field goal against Notre Dame on Sept. 10, 1994. Hamilton was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.

PERSONAL: Hamilton was born in Wildwood, NJ and his full name is Remy Martin Hamilton, which is a tribute to both his mother (maiden name is Martin) and father (favorite drink is Remy Martin). Hamilton attended Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, Fla., where he played quarterback and defensive back, in addition to handling the placekicking and punting duties. He was named the Sun-Sentinel Offensive Player of the Year after passing for 1,147 yards and 12 touchdowns, and rushing for 249 yards and six scores. Hamilton also earned three letters in soccer and one in tennis. He earned a degree in sports management and communications at Michigan. He and his wife, Heather, have a son, Tate, and a daughter, Elle, and currently reside in Allen, Texas.
