AFL NOTES: Jason Fife signed with the Dallas Desperados on March 5, 2008 as insurance to the team and to serve as Chris
Sanders's backup after Clint Dolezel suffered a separated throwing shoulder at Georgia (3/1). In Dallas he will be reunited with ex-
Las Vegas Gladiator teammate, wide receiver Marcus Nash, whom he played with during the 2006 season - his only other season
in the league. Fife went to training camp in 2008 with the Cleveland Gladiators but was released during final cuts.
AFL 2006 (Las Vegas): Fife played and started in 11 games for the Gladiators as a rookie, completing 207-of-357 passes
(58.0%) for 2,221 yards with 41 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also led Las Vegas in rushing with 49 attempts for 178 yards
(3.6 avg.) with 12 touchdowns. Fife started his first career AFL game at Dallas (2/25) and completed 24-of-36 passes for a season-
best 299 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions while also adding two rushing touchdowns on four attempts. He
was named Offensive Player of the game after completing 18-of-28 passes for 174 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions
along with six rushes for 36 yards and one touchdown against Philadelphia (3/5). Fife was named Offensive Player of the
Game after completing 15-of-23 for 171 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions along with 17 rushing yards and three
rushing touchdowns against Grand Rapids (3/10). He completed a season-high 25 passes on 46 attempts for 227 yards with three
touchdowns and three interceptions against Arizona (3/17) while also adding 17 rushing yards on three attempts. At Utah (3/24)
Fife threw for 195 yards with three touchdowns and one interception on 17-of-27 passes while adding 11 rushing yards on four
attempts with one touchdown. He completed a season-best 80.8% of his passes (21-of-26) against Los Angeles (4/2) for 261 yards
with five touchdowns and two interceptions along with six rushes for 31 yards and two touchdowns. Fife tossed a season-high six
touchdowns against Nashville (4/9) on 19-of-38 passes for 252 yards with no interceptions and added 23 yards on the ground. At
San Jose (4/14) he hit 19-of-34 passes for 205 yards with three touchdowns and one interception and rushed six times for 26 yards
with three touchdowns. Fife attempted a season-best 52 passes and tied his season-high of 25 completions for 250 yards with four
touchdowns and three interceptions. He ended the season at Los Angeles (5/13) by completing 21-of-38 passes for 164 yards with
two touchdowns and one interception at Arizona (5/5). He also added six rushes for 21 yards and one touchdown agains the
Rattlers.
OTHER EXPERIENCE: 2007 - Fife spent time on the Washington Redskins practice squad. 2006 - He split
time on the New Orleans Saints practice squad and active roster where he was signed for four games but was inactive in each
one. 2005 - Fife was allocated to the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe by the Minnesota Vikings where he completed 12-of-21 passes
(57.1%) with no touchdowns and one interception. 2004 - He originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions,
but was released during final cuts.
COLLEGE: Fife threw for 3,702 yards on 260-of-496 passes (52.4%) and 30 touchdowns for the Ducks as a part-time starter
and backup to Kellen Clemens in his collegiate career. As a backup to Clemens during his senior season in 2003, Fife completed
64-of-120 passes (53.3%) for 879 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions. He took over for Joey Harrington as the team's
starter as a junior in 2002, completing 190-of-367 passes (51.8%) for 2,752 yards with 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
PERSONAL: Fife was a two-year starting quarterback at Temescal Canyon High in Lake Elsinore, Calif., where he was honored
as a Division VII All-CIF Southern Section All-Sunkist League selection as a senior after completing 104-of-240 passes for
1,852 yards and 21 touchdowns. As a junior, he was 66-of-158 for 903 yards and six touchdowns. Fife was a childhood actor and
appeared in the film Addams Family Values along with several television commercials. He majored in general science at Oregon.
