AFL NOTES: David Dixon signed with Dallas on February 14, 2008 to compete in training camp. Dixon impressed coaches
with his aggressive and physical play through camp and secured a spot on the club�s final roster. The rookie linebacker has one
year of professional experience in the Canadian Football League (Hamilton Tiger-Cats) and will serve as a back-up to both the
MLB and JLB positions to start off his AFL career.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 2007 - Dixon spent the year out of football. 2006 - Dixon played in five games with
the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League after joining the team in mid-season, recording six defensive tackles,
three special teams tackles and one interception. Dixon signed with NFL's San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent on July
26, but was released at the end of camp. 2005 - Dixon decided to forgo the final years of collegiate eligibility and spent the year
out of football as he prepared for the 2006 NFL Supplemental Draft.
COLLEGE: In two seasons at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas in 2004 and Blinn Junior College in Texas in 2004,
Dixon tallied 240 tackles (158 solo), 14.5 sacks, 60 tackles for loss, three interceptions, forced five fumbles and blocked ten kicks.
As a sophomore he transferred to Hutchinson CC where he was named the 2004 Jayhawks Conference Defensive Player of the
Year and was a finalist for National Defensive Player of the Year honors while he also was a first-team NJCAA All-America selection
with a conference-best 161 tackles. He added 43 tackles for losses, 8.5 sacks, two pass breakups, four forced fumbles, a
school-record five blocked kicks and a pair of interceptions in the 2004 season. As a freshman at Blinn JC, Dixon earned first-team
All-American and All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference honors as he registered 79 tackles (46 solos) with six sacks,
an interception and five blocked kicks.
PERSONAL: Dixon attended Beaumont Central High School in Texas where he earned All-District 22, All-Region III and Class
4A All-State honors as a linebacker and a halfback. He also returned kicks and added letters in track and field.
